- Do I need to hire an immigration professional ?

No. You are under no obligation to retain the services of an immigration professional (a lawyer or an immigration consultant). However, having one can help navigate the maze of immigration programs and smooth the immigration process. If you choose to be represented, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has specific rules as to who can represent you. Note that no special treatment will be given to your application if you use an immigration professional.

- What is the difference between an immigration consultant and a lawyer ?

Lawyers and consultants offer most of the same services. The main differences are that consultants undergo a specific course of training while the training of lawyers is far more extensive and not specific to immigration; also, only lawyers can represent a client in federal court in complicated cases.

- Can you guarantee me that my immigration application will be successful ?

No. Immigration professional can guarantee the success of your immigration application. Immigration and visa officers look at a number of factors that will allow them to decide the outcome of your application. All immigration professionals do is to use their knowledge and expertise to put  the best case forward for your application.

- Will you refund my money if my application is not successful ?

As a client, you are paying us for our expertise and for the time that we spend working on your file. Since we cannot guarantee the outcome of any matter that we are retained for, we do not give any refunds because the case was unsuccessful.
